Summary

Upgrade release-please-action from v4.4.0 to v5.0.0 to resolve the Node.js 20 deprecation warning. The only meaningful change in v5 is the runtime bump from node20 to node24; all action inputs/outputs remain identical.

Tracked by: SDK-2319

Review & Testing Checklist for Human

  • Verify the workflow file still has correct indentation and formatting
  • Optionally trigger the workflow via Actions → Run Release Please → Run workflow on this branch to confirm it runs cleanly on node24

Note

Low Risk
Low risk workflow maintenance change; the only functional impact is running release-please via the v5 action (new runtime), with no changes to release inputs/outputs in the workflow itself.

Overview
Upgrades the googleapis/release-please-action used by the release-please GitHub Actions workflow from v4 to v5.0.0 (updated pinned commit).

No other workflow logic, permissions, or publish steps are changed.
