Tagging the nightly images with the date has been requested in the past (rust-lang/docker-rust-nightly#3, #177, #general > docker nightly pinned), and after looking at it again, I think it would make sense to support it. The biggest concern is the large number of additional tags this would add (~4000), but it does not appear to be an issue for GHCR or Docker Hub. I looked into the limits for both services, and neither mentioned an upper limit on tags. On Docker Hub,
instrumentisto/rustused to tag Rust's nightly images for some time before it was recently archived.@sfackler
