Vite integration

Since Vite now more popular than WebPack, would it be possible to provide an official SDK integration for it? E.g. @openshift-console/dynamic-plugin-sdk-vite?

I'm not too familiar with Vite but I assume that its module federation support follows the same concept as webpack module federation.

If we have projects using Vite we could look into this.

Vite currently does not support module federation out of the box, but there are some plugins that could make it work. The @module-federation/vite package seems most promising, but there is also @originjs/vite-plugin-federation, but it seems less active.

The important piece is if the runtime is compatible with the rest of the module federation tooling. I did some sesting last year. You can check it out here: https://github.com/scalprum/mf-mixing-experiments. The @originjs/vite-plugin-federation needed some convincing, but I made it work in the end. However I am no sure what is the current state. The https://github.com/module-federation/vite did not exist at the time, but I'd definetly focus on it as it is owned by the MF org and seems to be more active.

Yes, the MF org does make it all seem a bit more legit. So I'd be interested how well these could work together. I see some engineers from Netflix, Zephyr and Valor working on the code, so it is certainly a more diverse pool of contributors, as well as more actively maintained.
